Fly For The Cure was founded by Anita Howland-Ellis and her husband Chris Ellis in May, 2010. They have both dealt with the loss of loved ones through this disease, and like thousands of other individuals they are currently coping with relatives and friends who are suffering from Cancer. They feel strongly that there can never be enough done to alert people of the need to be aware of the “early” signs of cancer and, to urge individuals to have recommended routine screening tests conducted by medical professionals in order to aid early detection of this disease in its many forms. Ultimately of course, early detection means a greatly enhanced chance of cure and survival. Anita and Chris are both confident that by creating this unique aviation platform in the mold of utilizing historic passenger configured aircraft to provide cancer sufferers and survivors free flights and trips from various locations around the country it will serve several purposes, including but not limited to, a) providing much needed moral support and enjoyment to those individuals carried aboard our foundations aircraft, b) through flight operations, will be generating the maximum publicity possible in order for the foundation to effectively broadcast and spread the cancer awareness and need for screening message, c) raise funds to support all of the services offered and, donate to cancer research. The primary mission and goal of "Fly For The Cure" is to help save lives and, enhance the quality of life for thousands of people across the nation.
